Dear Families,

We would like to welcome you to Kinder Academy, where strong healthy seeds are planted to produce a wealth of learning.  We want to thank you for choosing us to share in the life of your child.  Our goal is to partner with you as we make learning fun. We are committed to model good values where children will know that they are loved and they each have a special purpose.

Our families are an important part of our program and we want to build a community where together we cultivate curiosity, questions and a love for learning. Transitioning your child into a new environment can at times be challenging.  We invite you and your child to come and spend some time in the classroom with the teachers and children prior to your first day.

As we grow, we value your thoughts, please feel free to share new ideas and concerns.  It's important to us to establish strong communication between our parents, teachers and management.  We are looking forward to partnering with you and to offer you and your child a safe, caring and discovery-filled environment.

Sincerely,
Kinder Academy

The Creative Curriculum

Kinder Academy has chosen to incorporate Teaching Strategies, “The Creative Curriculum,” across all of our classrooms. Creative Curriculum provides the opportunities for children of all ages to learn through discovery and play, form and maintain relationships, and express and regulate emotions, which we see as the cornerstones of school readiness. Daily experiences provide learning across all the developmental areas and provide a comprehensive approach to building cognitive, social, physical, language, and emotional skills. Our center uses a unified-theme approach that is customized for the developmental needs of each age group and provides a variety of experiences to nurture the whole child.

Montessori

What is Montessori education? For more than a century now, the child-focused approach that Dr. Maria Montessori, an Italian physician, developed for educating children has been transforming schools around the globe. As soon as you enter a classroom, you know that something different is afoot. Montessori classrooms are immediately recognizable. You will see children working independently and in groups, often with specially designed learning materials; deeply engaged in their work; and respectful of themselves and their surroundings.

The Montessori Method fosters rigorous, self-motivated growth for children and adolescents in all areas of their development—cognitive, emotional, social, and physical.

Our Learning Philosophies

ACTIVE LEARNERS

Children are active learners who learn best from activities they plan and carry out themselves. They are little scientists and builders, acrobats and artisans, who need active experiences with the world of people and things: who need opportunities to set goals, plan, reflect and take responsibility. From birth, they are communicators who need a world filled with books, language experiences and great conversation.

TEACHERS ARE MENTORS

Teachers are the members of the center team who provide the environment experience from which children learn. They create experiences appropriate for each child, ask stimulation questions, provide challenge, and help children discover new answers and new opportunities. Teaching also involves helping children achieve the confidence and self-discipline to develop increasingly more sophisticated social and intellectual skills and knowledge that will prepare them for success in school.

NOT “HOW SMART IS THIS CHILD?” BUT “HOW IS THIS CHILD SMART?”

The concept of a single unified intelligence has been replaced by the understanding that there are multiple intelligences: many ways of know and achieving in the world. Success in school and success in life draws upon multiple intelligences. Multiple intelligences are interrelated and interactive. Optimum development requires identifying a child’s strengths and using those strengths to help the child succeed in school and in life. The program is individualized to meet each child’s needs.
